Teaser: 865 AD: The Great Heathen Army of Denmark invades and conquers half of Britain establishing the "Danelaw". After years of war, the Kingdom of Wessex stands as the last Anglo-Saxon domain. King Alfred of Wessex proves himself a competent leader and manages to hold against the Danish invaders for some time. In a surprising move, the Danes attack King Alfred's position and begin a massacre. Luckily, King Alfred and a small group of companions escape and continue to fight the enemy.
